Gran Turismo 7 es un videojuego de simulación de carreras desarrollado por Polyphony Digital y publicado por Sony Interactive Entertainment. El juego se anunció el 11 de junio de 2020 en el evento de presentación de PlayStation 5 y salió a la venta el 4 de marzo de 2022 para PlayStation 4 y PlayStation 5, convirtiéndose en la primera entrega multiconsola de la serie.

Ultimately, Gran Turismo Sport’s strong competitive focus meant giving up too many classic ideas and experiences, and that ended up working against it. Gran Turismo 7 is available from March 4, 2022 on PS5 and PS4. In an interview with Japanese media Dengeki Online, the head of Polyphony Digital claimed that the media misinterpreted a statement he made after being asked if there was a possibility of releasing Gran Turismo 7 on PC.

This is not true. Regarding the PC version, I replied: ‘It’s not that I don’t think about all the possibilities [as a developer]. It means that the probability is not zero. It’s just that if you ask me, ‘Are you guys doing anything concrete?’ No, we’re not doing anything. There’s nothing to talk about.

Let’s not forget that Polyphony Digital is not a third-party studio that just happened to create a PlayStation game that turned out to be successful and became exclusive. The team led by Yamauchi was born within Sony to create games for the PS1, and ended up achieving recognition and greater autonomy thanks to the success of Gran Turismo.

Beyond the aforementioned, Sony today has no reason to bring Gran Turismo 7 -or any other title in the series- to the PC. Not only because it should go out to capture the attention of a market and a platform where there are already countless titles dedicated to simracers; but because it doesn’t need to.
